Rated 2 out of 5 by Seems solid, poor quality Purchased the 84" double. Bookcase seems very solidly constructed and I have no double it's durable. I would note that all the shelves on mine were non- adjustable without removing four screws. Now for the bad- the build quality was unacceptable to the point where I have requested a complete replacement as some of the problems are not repairable. 1. It appears every single screw attaching the brackets to the shelves was put in at a 30 to 45 degree angle. This means taller books at the ends of the shelves will catch on the screw heads. 2. In a few places on the front trim, there are multiple (in one case six) visible nails. Not sure why six nails within a 4 inch space were needed to attach a single piece of trim, but it makes the bookshelf appear like a rushed amateur job. 3. The part that cannot be repaired- the back panel was clearly put on incorrectly in the first attempt. Rather than replace the now damaged panel, the assembler chose to reuse it. -The back panel is barely attached -Large chunks on the edge are missing where staples from attempt 1 tore out. -For attempt 2, the assembler used the same screws as used to attach the shelves, and in at least three places split the wood of the outer frame of the bookshelf. -No attempt was made to reattach the back panel in the middle, meaning that there is an unacceptable level of flex in the back panel (this will not hold up for long- I have baseboards and the back of the shelf will not be flush with a wall). -At least one shelf was screwed down about 3/4 inch short of the front face of the book shelf- a very noticeable build error Most of the above I would have been able to repair myself with the exception of the back panel (it's destroyed), the split wood (presswood, so not repairable). I requested a replacement about 2 1/2 weeks ago, so if the replacement is better i'll update this review. August 5, 2016
