How to Style with Pantone's 2024 Color of the Year

As we welcome in 2024, it's time to embrace the color that will guide us through the next twelve months. The technicolor powerhouse, Pantone, just released their 2024 Color of the Year – and this year’s color certainly doesn’t disappoint!

For 2024, Pantone selected 13-1023: Peach Fuzz - a color that evokes the softness of a peach, the warmth of a summer sunset, and the comforting embrace of a loved one.

Peach Fuzz is an appealing peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, and it represents both our desire for togetherness with others as well as our desire for moments of peace and stillness. According to Pantone’s Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, “Peach Fuzz is a shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”

If you want to see what went into choosing this awe-inspiring color, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at Pantone’s Color of the Year selection process!

Pantone has been announcing their pick for the Color of the Year for over a decade, and many other companies, such as Sherwin WilliamsGlidden, and Benjamin Moore, have followed suit. The Color of the Year is a significant event in the design world, influencing industries such as fashion, interior design, graphic design, and many others. Not only does the Color of the Year set the tone for many industries (pun intended), but it also gives all of us something innately inspiring to guide us through the year ahead.

As we navigate through 2024, Pantone’s Peach Fuzz offers a comforting presence, a reminder to find joy in the everyday and to embrace the warmth of human connection. When thinking about Peach Fuzz from an interior design perspective, it implores us to get cozy, get creative, and openly embrace the inherent softness within us all.

If you’re wanting to incorporate this warm, positive color into your space, then you’ve come to the right place! At Furniture Row, we have a selection of accent pieces that both showcase and complement this delightful hue.

Orchid Accent Chair - Cool comfort with retro-appeal

If you love vintage flair and vibrant coordinating fabrics, then you’ll love the Orchid Accent Chair. This stylish accent delivers a chic, mid-century modern look with a rounded bucket seat perched atop flared metal legs in a glamorous shade of gold. The Orchid’s peach-colored upholstery is detailed with vertical channel tufting along the back and arms, and how could anyone miss the coordinating botanical print found along its eye-catching backrest? The Orchid is a great stylistic introduction to Peach Fuzz, and certainly will catch your eye from every direction.

Skye Rug - A refreshing take on traditional style

If you aren’t sure about committing to a large, peach-toned piece of furniture just yet and would prefer a smaller accent, then you’ve got to check out the Skye Rug in Blush/Grey. Inspired by traditional designs from Persia and Turkey, the Skye boasts a fantastically faded color story paired with a unique, timeless floral pattern. This is a more subdued version of Peach Fuzz that serves a great option for those wanting to incorporate the color without making too big of a splash.

Colors and Designs to Complement Peach Fuzz

How about if Peach Fuzz is not your go-to color? Or what if you want to create a cohesive color scheme and don’t know where to start? Don’t worry - we’ve got you covered!

Our Furniture Row designers highly recommend pairing Peach Fuzz with these other colors to create contrast, visual dimension and variety in your home! We’ve even cultivated various Furniture Row items for you that’ll complement your new peachy aesthetic.

Teal: Like its parent colors blue and green, teal provides complementary effect when paired with peach - utilizing their differences to highlight one another’s natural vibrancy. Teal offers a refreshing hue to cool down the brightness of peach while not taking anything away from its light-hearted appeal. Here are some of our favorite teal-colored accents to complement Peach Fuzz:

Teal Products at Furniture Row. Kit Accent Chair. Ashleigh Accent Chair. Coryana Accent Chair. Dahlia Accent Chair.

Blue: Blue and orange are complementary colors on the color wheel - so how does that translate into pairing with Peach Fuzz? Much like its darker hued sibling, the light warmth of  peach is generally a good option to add great dimension to rich, cooling blue tones. Although they are not directly complementary, their opposing tones and shades create a dynamic scheme perfect for any room! This is a great avenue to explore color theory, and how you want to mold it to your tastes.

Blushes and Orange: Although they are similar, peach and blush are often a perfect pair, especially if you want to double up on their warming and endearing effects. The red undertones of blush paired with the orange-y warmth of peach create an approachable, harmonious look that’s enlivening and full of charm. Like blush, orange is also a warming color in the same family that looks great with peach! Orange’s intensity compared to peach adds vibrancy and a fun sense of drama. Here are some of our favorite blush and orange-colored products that pair nicely with peach:

Joppa Sofa. Raine 2 Piece Sectional. Marquee Sofa. Lawson Swivel Chair. Gwendolyn Dining Bench.

Browns and Earth Tones: The depth of browns and other natural earth tones, such as forest green or burnt orange, add a sultry dimension to peach hues without letting them feel too overwhelming. These make the peach more digestible to the eye, but still encourage it to pop out with enthusiasm. Our Furniture Row designers recommend these brown-colored pieces:

Gorman Accent Chair. Henley Swivel Chair. Pirouette Swivel Chair

White/Neutral: To emphasize the depth and beauty of Peach Fuzz, a white, off-white, and neutral color palette is ideal due to its bright and clean appearance. These colors won’t dominate Peach Fuzz, but rather create a nice softening balance. Here are some of our our favorite pieces in the white/neutral palette:

Gabo Accent Chair. Celine Accent Chair. Liz Arm Chair. Sumptuous 2 Pc Sectional. Yuca Arm Chair.
