Poor Business Practice
I had the pleasure of working with 2 great sales people on 2 separate occasions. I placed my first order over the weekend to be delivered in mid-September (bedroom set and mattress). The 2 departments even worked together to ensure delivery of both items on the same day. And thanks to a coupon that I received in the mail, I was even offered free delivery! I was so pleased with the service that day, that I returned to the store this weekend with the intention of purchasing 2 additional bedroom sets, as well as office furniture and a full living room set.
HOWEVER, when I was in the process of completing my purchase (totaling well into the thousands of dollars) I was told that 2 pieces of one of the beds would not be ready in time and would have to be delivered separately. To my surprise (and extreme disappointment) I was told that I would then have to pay the additional $69 delivery fee (which, honestly, they did offer to reduce to $45).
But seriously, I am spending a significant amount of money (significant to me anyway), and it was simply 2 small pieces of ONE BED that were not going to be in on time. Perhaps the policy of the store, or perhaps poor decision by store manager, but I personally would NOT have turned down thousands of dollars in sales (not to mention commissions for my employee!) simply over $45.
I will be shopping for the remainder of my furniture elsewhere.
