2026 Fall Colors: Rich Jewel Tones Meet Earthy Neutrals

As the weather cools down, many of us start looking for ways to make home feel a little warmer, softer, and more inviting. This fall, that may mean leaning into colors with a little extra depth.

Summer gave us terracotta and sage green: sun-washed, easygoing, and effortless to live with. Fall 2026 takes those same earthy foundations and turns up the saturation, swapping them for richer, more dramatic shades like burgundy, plum, oxblood, chocolate brown, and mustard.

The Reds: Burgundy, Oxblood, and Crimson

Good news: these colors are much more forgiving than they look, and you do not have to redo the whole room to make them work. Start small with a mustard accent chair, a set of burnt amber pillows, or one moody throw blanket. Here is how to build the palette without overthinking it.

Pick one hero. Choose a single deep color and give it the biggest piece in the room. Everything else supports it.
Ground it in neutrals. Cream, oatmeal, warm white, and natural wood keep saturated colors from closing a room in.
